Lifeline Telephone Assistance Program benefits are available through local telephone companies.
Low-income households may qualify to get their residential telephone service at reduced charges under the "Lifeline" program. The lifeline program gives a discount of $9.25 on your monthly local telephone services.
ELIGIBILITY
Someone can receive this benefit if they are receiving any of the following benefits:
*Medical Assistance
*Supplemental security income
* Section 8 Housing
* Low income home energy assistance program
* National School Lunch (free program only)
* Temporary assistance for needy families
* Food Stamps
* Wisconsin Homestead tax
Or if income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
