New Mobile App for Public Benefits in Wisconsin
By the GWAAR Legal Services Team
Wisconsin DHS recently launched a new mobile application (app) for people to apply for and manage public benefits. The free app, called MyACCESS, became available on November 12 to a limited number of people as a soft launch, and becomes available to everyone in January 2019. The app is a spinoff of the ACCESS website.
With the new mobile app, people will be able to:
-
See an overview of the programs they are enrolled in.
-
Receive reminders of actions they need to take or verification documents they need to submit.
-
Take photos of and submit required documents.
-
Check the real-time status of submitted documents.
This app will be helpful for people on or applying for FoodShare, BadgerCare+, long-term care Medicaid, MAPP, Medicaid deductible, and Medicare Savings Programs.
