Description:
Memory Cafe - Miss Katie's Diner
Memory Cafés are places where persons with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) early-stage Alzheimer's or a related dementia can go with their care partners to socialize and have fun with other people going through similar things.
A Memory Café has no real agenda or stated purpose except to enjoy each other's company. Cafés provide a time where you do not need to focus on the diagnosis, while having a great time connecting with each other as a family or creating new friendships.. A social engagement opportunity presented by the Alzheimer's Association.
WHO: Individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer's and their care partners as well as those who worry about memory problems.
WHEN: Third Wednesday of Each Month
WHERE: Miss Katie's Diner, 1900 W Clybourn, Milwaukee, WI

***During summer months, this group meets at the snack shop at McKinley Marina***
WHY: Being active physically, socially and mentally is good for the brain! And we all understand: "We're all in the same boat!"
