Description:
The Rock and Green County Recreation programs assist individuals with developmental disabilities, who are socially isolated, in meeting their social, leisure, and recreational needs.
The program encourages increased activity which has a positive impact on their physical and emotional health, as well as their ability to care for themselves. Participants are given opportunities to increase their socialization, develop friendships, and stay active in the community. By participating in the program, individuals learn more about activities and resources and improve their social skills and independence in the community.
Services Offered Include:
•Meaningful recreational opportunities planned with input from the participants.
•Varied locations for more opportunities.
•Both large and small group activities.
•Well-supervised environments within the community with a staff/volunteer to client ratio of between 1:1 and 1:3.
•Activities are integrated into the community.
Who Is Eligible:
Individuals with developmental disabilities ages 16+ and are residents of Rock or Green County.
