Description:
Wheaton Alert is an easy-to-use medical alert service that ensures older adults or the disabled living at home get quick access to help, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The subscriber presses a waterproof Personal Help Button (worn as a pendant or wristband) when help is needed. The Care Center responds quickly, assesses the situation, and summons help, whether it is a neighbor, relative or ambulance. Wheaton Alert also allows the subscriber to: answer the telephone without having to rush to grab a handset and risk falling; maintain peace of mind knowing that help is just a press-of-a-button away; and feel a stronger sense of well-being.
The fall detection pendant can automatically call for help if it detects a fall. The Care Center provides closed-loop monitoring and confirms that assistance has arrived in the home. The service provided is personal response as opposed to security monitoring. The Wheaton Alert service provides notifications to a third party, such as a physician, home health nurse or even a family member in the event of an incident. These notifications can be by fax, text, or email depending on the third party’s preference. There is NO installation or set-up fee. The basic unit monthly fee is $29.99.
They also offer a unit which can be used if there is no landline telephone service in the home. This unit sends the help signal via cellular technology and is $33.00 per month. Each unit comes with one lightweight waterproof help button. The fall detection pendant is available for an additional $12 monthly fee. The unit can be programmed to accept more than one help button so additional members of the household may utilize services (at no additional fee). There is no requirement to buy any equipment or make a long term commitment.
