The Home Delivered Meal Program is a service of the Milwaukee County Department on Aging and Goodwill. The program provides one hot noon meal Monday through Friday. Special diets are available through a physician's order. In special circumstances, chilled weekend meals can be provided.
Call the Aging Resource Center of Milwaukee County at (414) 289-6874 and provide the requested information. Your request will be forwarded to the Home Delivered Meal Program. An appointment will be made for a home visit by a social worker. The applicant will sign a medical release form that is sent to the individual's physician for approval. The applicant's physician must verify the need for meals and the type of diet required. If the individual is eligible for meals, s/he will be notified of the start date. If s/he is ineligible, alternative resource information will be provided. There is a Spanish speaking social worker at the Aging Resource Center.
A person must be 60 years of age or older; a resident of Milwaukee County; be homebound; physically or mentally impaired and unable to prepare adequate nutritious meals; unable to participate in the congregate meal program; unable to obtain meals from another agency; living alone or with no other adult living in the same house, building or area who is able or willing to prepare meals; must be home at time of meal delivery.
To cancel a Home delivered meal, please notify Goodwill 24 Hours in advance by calling 358-6527.
